Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, predominantly women and people of color, their writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!
Meet the Author!

I’m a first time author, my poetry book is titled, Words from Within: Poetry Collection. My poetry is authentic and captures all my truth and experiences. I’m a proud Haitian-American who loves to spend time with family and friends, write, read, cook and binge watch my favorite movies and shows. I received my Bachelors degree in Marketing from Kean University and my MBA from Georgian Court University. I currently reside in South Jersey with my loving husband and son.
What and when started your love for writing?
It started off as a journal when I was younger. The way I would write in my journals would be in poetry form. Growing up I was insecure, questioned everything and everyone and felt misunderstood, this began to spark up my passion for writing. It was my therapy outside of my actual therapy. During the 2020 pandemic I began to take my craft more serious and pursue this new venture.
Of all the book genres, what drew you to write about yours

I view everything in life in rhythm and flow. Poetry just happened naturally once I began to write all my emotions down.
How does being a Person of Color impact how and what you write?
I write for everyone who’s willing to read my work. But being a Haitian-American woman, a wife and a mother it definitely adds a little spice to my writing. Allowing me to speak on topics about society and any challenges anyone may face internally or externally.
What makes your book(s) special?

It’s my truth, my story, my raw emotions. It brings out the depression, the pain, the acknowledgement, and the love all in one place.
So…what are you working on now?
