green leaf on pile of books

Hi everyone! How are you guys doing? I hope all is well as we continue fair with this global pandemic. I know for most the pandemic is a negative thing. And don’t get me wrong, for me it had set me back in more than a few things.

But with staying home more and more, I’ve had more time to write and reflect. And I am proud to say that, I am back at writing poetry. Now I don’t consider myself a poet by any means. I use poetry as a way to reflect and let out my thoughts and emotions on paper. And sometimes, like now, I have the urge to post my poet onto the blog.

“Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world, and makes familiar objects be as if they were not familiar.”

Percy Bysshe Shelley, from A Defence of Poetry and Other Essays.

So Winnie, why do you write poetry?

Well I’m glad you asked. When I was younger, about late elementary age, I really started to dive into reading and writing poems. The always put me at ease and it was relaxing to write them as well. Just like writing my fantasy novels, writing poetry always put me in a positive atmosphere. My favorite times to read poetry is on the couch with a cup of tea and rainy weather.

So when are we going to see these poems?

Now the poems, I’ll be posting won’t have a set schedule. When I having the feeling to post, I will. I think for now, I’ll be revamping my old poetry posts and poems. Well, when I have time. Which I seem to have less and less of as this crazy year goes on. Still be on the look at for some of my pieces on the way.

And I am always happy to guest post other poets on the blog too. Just click the link here, if you’re interested in showcasing your work on my blog for me and my viewers! This was a short and sweet announcement, and I hope you all are just as excited to read the new poetry I’ll be posting.
