Welcome to Winnie’s Writers Week!
Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase women and people of color, their writing talents, and their published works. All this week (Aug 24th-Aug 28th) I will be doing a week of author spotlights, showcasing some of the most unique authors and writers I’ve met in a while. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!
Meet the Author!

Delton D’Souza is a writer by chance.
Armed with a double masters and years of experience in the corporate world, Delton found himself increasingly obsessed with the people’s mindset behind their actions. Finally, he gave in to his urge, and started writing in order to capture multiple thoughts (alternate mindsets) swimming around inside his head.
The inspiration behind each of the poems was well appreciated by not only his family and friends, but a small circle of outsiders who found great value that quite enriched their lives. That made Delton take a promise to reach out to as many as possible. He has published books on multiple aspects of life and multiple forms of writing to reach as many as he can. Delton lives in the seventh most populous city in the world, which opens the doors for manifold people experiences. He stays with his partner Siri and their latest treasure, Zach.
What and when started your love for writing?
I have always been fascinated by what and how people thought and what resulted in actions. I believe that the right thought leads to the right action, which can change the world. So, I started writing blogs to help my friends and maybe friends of theirs. But, it seemed like many others, they did not have time. So, I condensed those words into even shorter format – POETRY. It was very well appreciated by not only his family and friends, but a small circle of outsiders who found great value that quite enriched their lives. That made me take a promise to reach out to as many as possible. And here I am – almost writing full time. 6 books and counting fast.
Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?

I think I above answers it. But, why I chose Poetry? Cause I strongly believe that Poetry has the power to inspire change like no other art form. However, I am also writing a novel which should be out soon. Beta readers have given great feedback.
If you could meet one of your favorite authors who would it be and why?

I don’t have a single favorite, to be honest. It’s the same way I don’t have a single singer or actor.
For me the content matters. I may like one book of one author as much as one book of another author. The book matters, not the author. SO, if you ask me, I would like everyone to know the names of my books, more than my name.
What makes your book(s) special?

I think one of the most unique aspects of my poetry is that everyone of them relate to the reader and not the author. While my experiences and lots of reading does influence me, I write so that readers can go back into their life – relive it or even live it of my poems for the first time. And, this I can now say cause almost all my readers have said the same.
Another important aspect is that there is a picture after every poem. These are photographs taken by talented shutterbugs. It has been carefully selected to give a representation of the inner meaning of the poem, and thereby a window to reflect on one’s own journey of life and begin a continuous process of discovery and joyfulness. I always encourage the readers to spend some time there, feel the emotion, and make the journey thy own.
So…what are you working on now?
Currently, I am working on multiple books. After success of 69 Moments of Love, I am releasing 99 Moments of Heartbreak, which will be followed by 99 Moments of Truth. These will contain powerful Haikus that will depict emotions that are often hidden, and not discussed.
Delton is an author buddy of mine, and I’m so happy to spotlight him here on my blog. I’ve read many on his poetry books and I highly advise you to check out his work! If you want to get in contact or connect with Delton you can through:
