What and when started your love for writing?
My love affair with writing began when I was twelve years old. Poetry was my first love. It was a way for me to express my emotions creativity and abstractly. I figured it was safer than a journal. With poetry, I didn’t have to worry about my deepest secrets being exposed. Being an advid reader, eventually I graduated to writing short stories and novels because I wanted to share the fruit of my imagination.
Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?
I write paranormal and urban fantasy because I grew up with a great grandmother who filled my mind with fantastic tales of the supernatural. She was full of ghost stories, mysterious dreams, cryptids, superstitions, and supernatural power. There was nothing better than the extraordinary, thus paranormal was destined to be my genre.

What’s your favorite Halloween/Horror/Mystery story or character?
Jack the Pumpkin King (Jack Skellington) from Nightmare Before Christmas. Besides being a dapper dresser in his pinstripe slim fit suit, I love him because he is curious and ever searching for purpose. Also, when he misses the mark and causes chaos, he recognizes his mistake and tries to make things right. That shows growth, remorse, and maturity.

What is one thing about Halloween or the spooky season that you can’t stand?

I don’t like when Halloween things get too demonic or gory. There is a thin line between fun horror and just being demented.
What makes your book(s)/writing special?
My books are very descriptive and fast paced with unexpected twists and turns that always strives for unpredictability. I like too levitate within the realm of eerieness.

So…what are you working on now?
I just returned from Egypt. I have a few short stories stewing in my mind. I plan to start putting them on the page very soon.
