Hello everyone! Welcome to another Author Spotlight! These spotlights are for showcasing author’s (predominantly women and people of color) writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!
About the Author:

Even as a young girl I have always had a passion for reading & writing. And a good love story makes my day!
I am the owner & operator of LSB Photography, specializing in portrait photography.
When I’m not reading or writing, you can catch me on a date with my hubby, my daughter’s basketball game or hanging out with friends, all with my camera in hand.
What and when started your love for writing?
I believe my love for writing started in 3rd grade. We had a writing assignment due and I wrote mine in the form of a poem. When my teacher handed back the assignment she wrote on my paper, “…I didn’t ask for a poem.” I didn’t care about her comment, I was happy I wrote a poem. Since then, any class in school that involved reading, writing, or researching I’ve aced. I’ve also written and collected poems and short stories.
Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?
I have always loved a good love story. I remember watching West Side Story with my mom. I loved that movie but I wanted to rewrite the ending so Tony and Maria would live happily ever after. I’m pretty sure that all of my books will end in “happily ever after”.

If you could meet your favorite author, who would it be and why?
There are two authors I’d like to meet. Well, three if you count Michelle Obama, but I’d love to meet her simply because she’s the first First lady that looks likes me. But I’d love to meet Zuri Day, because her romance novels are so on point to the kind of love stories I like to read and hope I’m writing. The Second author I’d like to meet is Francine Rivers. I’m in awe of how she takes a story from the Bible and makes it a romance novel. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read Redeeming Love.

What is the hardest part of the writing process for you?
The hardest part is dedicating the hours that I want to spend alone writing, but knowing that I need to spend quality time with my husband and daughter. Although, they’re pretty good about giving me quiet, writing time.
What makes your book(s)/writing special?
The thing that I think makes my writing special is it comes from a place in my heart that wants everybody to feel love. My sole purpose is to make people feel good when they close that back cover.

So…what are you working on now?
I’m currently working on my second romance novel. This one is going to be a little steamier than the first one. *Wink*
