Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, predominantly women and people of color, their writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!
Meet the Author!

What and when started your love for writing?
My love for writing was innate just as my curiosity. I like to believe that art is a curious language with lots of various words in it. So, my curiosity about things around me, things beyond my understanding even at a young age and my passion for books propelled my love for writing. The connection isn’t something that can be severed. It’s too deep. Writing is an art that has become intertwined with me. Let’s say I’m a natural.
Of all the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?
It’s pure coincidence, really. My latest anthology; Cycles, is of the romance genre. It is tinted with heartbreak and healing but it’s quite filled with love poems. I find the murder mystery fascinating as well as erotica and fantasy but writing my poetry anthology was beyond me. It was from within. It was like a truth that needed to be released. So, it’s a pure coincidence that my anthology ended up being a romance anthology.
If you could meet your favorite author who would it be and why?
My favorite classic author is Emily Bronte; author of Wuthering Heights; my favorite book in the world.
I’d love to ask her questions. Curiousity. It’s so surreal that she could imagine a world so different from what was happening back in those times. The book was out of this world. I’d like to know what inspired it. I understand how the book defied every limitation and rather used the surrounding features as an added plus to the book, yet it’s magical.
What makes your book(s)/writing special?

Perhaps it’s the way I tell stories. Some say it evokes so many emotions in them and I guess it’s a replica of my emotions that I put into my books. I’m a very emotional person. Let’s say, too emotional. In projecting my emotions through my words, readers are able to fill their feet into the shoes of the persona I write about without having to scurry around before they get the meaning. Simplicity and its classic nature. I believe in brevity so my poems are often short and simple. I think that’s the magic. Also, subtlety is another major special thing I explore. I love being subtle with my works. On the surface, my works are simple and really understandable but read between the lines, therein lies subtlety.
So…what are you working on now?
I’m working on two novels at the moment. Zoffee; a fictional heart-wrenching book. I choose the word heart-wrenching because the few people who have read the few chapters I’ve written, ended up crying. The interesting part is that 90% of the characters in the novel happens to be my friends.
The second novel is Adiha. It’s an African Fantasy novel that shows the West African world through the eyes of a curious ten-year old girl whose curiousity led her to a chain of trouble, secrets and doom. Save for researching, writing a poetry series; INTROSPECTIVE THOUGHTS and posting on my literary blog, that’s all I’m working on at the moment.
Interviewing Zoe was really fun. She is an author on a roll to put more of her excellent work out into the world. If you want to get in contact or connect with Zoe you can follow her on:
