What and when started your love for writing?

I started writing in junior high when I was a reporter for the school newspaper. I really loved being on the newspaper. That is probably when I really started to enjoy writing. I have never not liked writing. I got back into writing a few times over the years by writing a few articles and blogging. I would also journal from time to time as well.

Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?

Honestly, I was given the vision to share my story. So if I was going to share my story it had to be non-fiction. I think non-fiction is the best fit since that’s what my background is in. I have been a blogger in the past as well so that helped as well.

What is your biggest writing pet peeve?

My biggest writing pet peeve is being bothered while I am writing. I will turn my phone off or put it on do not disturb. Whenever I am in the zone someone is always calling or texting so I have to stop it. This is the reason that I finished the rough draft in a few hours for my first book. It was so great to be able to just write and focus uninterrupted.

How have your writing skills improved over the years/months?

My skills have improved a lot over the years. But I feel like my skills have improved the most in terms of word count. I hadn’t written a chapter in a book before so I had no idea what to expect. So I was given a word count and was a little concerned about being able to meet that. Honestly, I didn’t have a problem meeting the word count that I had for my first book. Then a few months later I started working on my second book. The word count was a lot higher. So my chapter in my second book is double the word count of the first. So I have grown a lot as a writer and author in the last few months.

What makes your book(s)/writing special?

My writing is special because it’s my story about my journey with endometriosis. Endometriosis is a disease that affects 1 in 10 women. Not many books are written or have a chapter in them about a personal experience with endometriosis. The tells how it really is to have endometriosis and what you have to do through. I tell it how it is the good, bad and ugly because endometriosis is a combination of all of that. There are good , bad and in between days. There are days that test your strength, pain tolerance
and everything else. It’s not an easy disease and everyone’s experience is
different. My goal is to bring awareness and educate about endometriosis.
