Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, predominantly people of color, their writing talents, and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!

Meet the Author!

I love writing because it is exciting, the end results can be delighting! My name is J. Buchanan and I have been writing fiction for over a decade and I like to create unique, thought provoking, realistic fiction.

What and when started your love for writing?

My love for writing started in high school English class.  During lectures I would be writing fictional short stories while it looked like I was taking notes.  The love increased in college as I started to write longer, more intricate stories.

Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?

Fantasy has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. While my gMy genre is considered New Adult fiction, but specifically for my novel Fate, because I was in college when I wrote it and it is an action novel about young adults.

If you could meet your favorite author who would it be and why?

I would love to meet James Baldwin, Ralph Ellison & Langston Hughes because not only were they extraordinarily talented, they prospered and illuminated black intelligence like the sun.

What makes your book(s)/writing  special?

I feel that my books and my writing is special because it contains a combination of action and creatively understandable wordplay, all while being centered around a unique and thought provoking idea.

So…what are you working on now?

I am currently working to completed a science fiction novel entitled One World, which is about a highly intelligent species of people in another galaxy, who voluntarily go through a life-long Earth dream experience that actually only takes fifteen minutes in one of their MRI Dream machines.

I really enjoyed having J. Buchanan on my blog! His novel seems to be a very interesting read. If you want to get in contact or connect with J. Buchanan you can through:
