Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the blog. Today I want to talk about indie authors. Indie authors, like myself, have to and have always had to stand as both brave and resilient as storytellers. We are our own bosses, crafting narratives that weave us as people together in ways that can be both heartfelt and profound. And now more than ever, supporting indie authors and publishers is not just an act of kindness; itโs a celebration of the power of community and connection! We are all trying our best to navigate changing times, with bigger and scarier challenges at every corner. I wanted to take a moment to remind us all that power comes not only from strength, but also from joy and creation. So letโs take some time today to explore a few simple and impactful ways to shop and support Indie Authors.
1. Buy The BOOK!
Firstly, buying our books is the simplest and most direct way to support indie authors. Each purchase is a tangible vote of appreciation. Whether itโs a digital download or a printed copy, every sale helps sustain us and helps to continue to fuel them with the resources they need to continue sharing their stories with the world.

2. Read and Review
Reviews are the lifeblood of an indie authorโs visibility. They shine like beacons, guiding other readers to discover hidden gems. Your thoughts could be the gentle nudge someone needs to embark on a new literary adventure. In the future, I am going to do a blog about Goodreads and Amazon alternatives for readers to use when wanting to promote and publish book reviews.
3. Get Social
Social media is a powerful tool for us to shape and support communities and narratives around indie books and authors. A simple post can reach hundreds, if not thousands, of potential readers. Trust me, I have seen the power of social media. And you can use hashtags, tag the authors, and join online communities dedicated to indie books to further your support and presence for authors.

4. Virtual Book Events
Attending virtual book readings or signings is another fantastic way to connect with indie authors. Many authors host online events that allow readers to engage directly with them.
5. Talk the Talk
Letโs not forget the power of word-of-mouth. Talk about the indie books you love with friends and family. Recommend them at book clubs or gift them during special occasions. Your enthusiastic endorsement could be the spark that lights a new readerโs interest.
6. Directly Donate
Consider supporting authors through platforms like Patreon or Kickstarter. Many authors offer exclusive content, early book releases, or behind-the-scenes insights to their supporters. Itโs a beautiful way to forge a deeper connection, to become part of the creative process, and to support them in a manner thatโs both meaningful and direct.

In these challenging times, resilience is our greatest asset. Supporting indie authors is a testament to all of our collective strength. No matter what, even in solitude, we are never truly alone. I hold onto this belief that, with hope and optimism, knowing that every book we buy, every review we write, and every story we share brings us closer. Let’s all continue to contribute to a supportive environment where indie authors can thrive, and their stories continue to inspire and connect us all! That’s all I have for today, and remember:
Live. Laugh. Love.
