Hello everyone! Welcome to the first Jingle Books Author Spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, authors and their writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!
Meet the Author

17-year-old author, born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario with a love for creative writing which she discovered after joining a school book and writing club in tenth grade. She enjoys creating new worlds and sharing parts of herself or her surroundings through characters, some she might not even recognize. She mainly writes romances and her first novel, an emotional and suspenseful romance with the subgenre of teen fiction, “The 30 Day Exchange”, got traditionally published by Ukiyoto Publishing near the end of September and is available for purchase in paperback and ebook format on Amazon and other online bookstores.
What and when started your love for writing?
When I joined a school book and writing club in tenth grade for the book aspect of it and found it super cool that some people in the group began to write their own books which they read parts of to the group. I couldn’t help but want to try that out for myself and immediately fell in love with the world, characters and emotions I could portray through my writing, how I found a way to be creative and express my voice and true emotions in a way that I never thought was possible. A creative and relaxing way for myself which I hope can inspire readers.

Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?
I’m 17, honestly don’t know that much about love, other than what I’ve seen in person and on TV, but I do know it provides you with a feeling of completion and understanding that you never want to let go of. I may never have been in a romantic relationship but in comparison to the relationships I have with my friends and family, I can only envision that. When writing romances, it’s like expressing the hopeless romantic part of myself in the best way I know, through words. I always like to focus on friendship too throughout my books as it’s just as important and a key aspect to a romantic relationship. We were all put on this earth together and are all technically living the same life, so we should connect and help lift each other up. Our lives may be different yet we’re all living together and have the ability to shape each other for the better. Something that makes me smile just thinking about it as we’re in control of both our happiness and others, something we can use to our advantage and a huge theme my published books and books I don’t have published have in common. Something I love to include in my romances as it makes them all the more special, relatable, and an idea that drew me to this genre to begin with as nothing beats the feeling of togetherness, being part of something bigger than just yourself.
What is your favorite part of the Holiday season?
Spending time with family and just the cheerful, almost magic-like feeling that makes everything better this time of the year.

If you could meet your favorite author who would it be and why?
My favourite author is Michael Hiebert with his “Dream With Little Angels” series full of mesmerizing words and relatable characters that you can’t help but love, some that portrayed that children are capable of doing anything an adult can, a main theme I try my best to incorporate throughout my books.
What is your favorite part to write of a story?
I have two favourite parts when writing a story. One being the obstacles or tough situation thrown the main character’s way and two being the resolution to it or if the damage can’t be fixed, why. I love showing growth among my characters. It makes them all the more relatable, all the more human, especially if the situation can’t be fixed but still allows them to come to some sort of a realization which is common to happen in life. I believe that everything has a purpose for occurring the way it does and enjoy portraying that, especially when it resolves around some sort of love.

What makes your book(s)/writing special?
My Exchange duology is an original idea as many novels focusing on birth exchanges are usually cliche, yet this series is everything but that, with the fact that children are exchanged like items in a store, reunited at a later age in which they fall in love and have so many questions where the mystery aspect to this series presents itself. “The 30 Day Exchange” is told from a guy’s point of view which is uncommon for romance books but suits the story well as he’s the one with all the questions, the one looking for answers about his biological mom, answers that drag on until the very end of the book as he meets three interesting people in foster care who have been through as much heartache as him, if not more as each one of their stories with much drama, pain and romance is emphasized as a subplot.

Although romantic love is a huge theme and focus in this series, friendship is what brings these four together, what helps them get through the worst and get to the best that they all are beyond entitled to. This leads to the sequel, “The Seven Day Return” in which friendship is put to the test when Jonah’s daughter is taken away from both him and his wife by the man that has been out to get them for some time. She is treated like a prisoner from both the outside and inside world as she is barely allowed to leave his mansion and finds herself to be falling for a guy in the mansion with her who she believes is her half brother, so she can’t do anything about that. It’s special as it covers many lessons within it that readers can include in their daily lives such as to not judge a book by its cover, you are capable of anything you put your mind to despite your age, obstacles are thrown your way for a reason, you are capable of doing anything when you realize you’re not alone and use that to your advantage, you must fully love and accept yourself before you can expect others to, and many more.
So…what are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working on another emotional and suspenseful romance series which should consist of four books if things go according to plan. I’m not going to give away too much, other than the fact that it focuses on the beauty and beast within two very broken people that came together, to only end up apart and more broken than before, but can easily change that if they really want to.
Julia is so inspiring to be doing what she is doing at only 17! I hope she inspires others to pick up a pen and paper. If you want to get in contact or connect with Julia you can through:
