Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, predominantly women and people of color, their writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!
Meet the Author!

L. M. Reynolds is a mom of two tiny artists, a budding gardener, and a puzzle extraordinaire. She is a proud black woman, dedicated to making stories that not only matter but make you laugh, draws you in like a sister, an auntie, or a friend and most importantly, just a good tale. Though she typically writes in Speculative Fiction with titles such as I Am Sasha Grey: Divulge, Funny Meeting You Again is her first romance novella.
What and when started your love for writing?
I’m going to say Twilight. Lol I did a book, that in my head, I’m still in love with but haven’t looked at it since early 2000s. The second wave was this show called The Gates. The show ended so crazy and I was like I can do better, and I have not stopped writing since.
Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?

So, I’m an urban fantasy author normally even though I just released my first romance novella. I love putting the imaginary and mythical into places that seem so ordinary. I like to think our world has an underground supernatural community. I hope for it. One of my favorite authors is Sarah Addison Allen. She writes magical realism. I am just fascinated by her work. I just want to know the process, the motivation, the development. All of it.
How is being Black/a woman impacted what you write?
It taught me that representation matters. When I first started writing, all of my characters were white. Though there is nothing wrong with it, I felt like I was betraying myself too and often couldn’t connect with the story. But I didn’t know who myself was then. At 31, I put out my first book because I could understand myself and what I wanted for my work. Its full of culture and confidence.
What makes your book(s) special?

My books speaks of the raw emotions that many people few but are afraid to talk about; that’s what makes it special.
So…what are you working on now?
I’m revamping me I Am Sasha Grey series that’s on Wattpad. Creating the next standalone novella in the Funny You world. Where Funny Meeting. You Again was about Nedra. Funny Thing Is will feature Delany, Nedra’s sister. Both standalone. And last, an anthology about women reclaiming themselves, however, that means for
them.
I loved getting to learn about L.M. and interview another urban fantasy author! And I’m excited to see where her writing takes her. You can contact L.M. through her:
