Hello! Hello! I hope you are managing this new month well! I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing a major update on my writing journey with you all!! (especially with the relief and excitement from the 2026 Election Day turning out so much better than I expected!)

I honestly thought I would finally get to catch my breath after wrapping up The Gods’ Scion. I pictured a nice, quiet break, but the universe (and my muse) had entirely different plans. Six books later, I am still typing away furiously. Today, I am pulling back the curtain to give you an exclusive look at the exact projects keeping me glued to my keyboard.

Here is what is officially in the works for me, Winnifred Tataw!

KaliDapa: Slayer of Gods

Coming September 2027

Get ready for an epic story about supporting women’s rights and women’s wrongs. This book features a dual-POV layout where the main character literally kills gods. But there is a massive catch: she has to marry the god of death.

• The Tropes: Forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers energy, and its is going to be SPICYYYYYYY!

🩸 The Afro-Steampunk Vampire Witch Series

Coming 2028

If you love a “gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss” protagonist, this upcoming 5-part series is for you. Set in a rich afro-steampunk world where women’s rights are in danger, this dark fantasy introduces a magical cast of Black vampires, disabled vampires, and main characters who is an absolute badasses. Expect a sweeping steampunk gothic saga spanning five dark, thrilling, and unforgettable books.

• The Vibe: High-stakes Kill Bill revenge plots meets “oh no, he’s hot!” romance.
• The Rep: Beautiful queer representation featuring an African x Polynesian central couple.
• The Spice: Just like KaliDapa, this one is heavily SPICYYYYYYY.
• The Ending: Don’t worry, you can look forward to a happy-ish ending!

Mermaid Pirate Standalone (??)

Current Work in Progress (WIP)

For my Young Adult readers, I am drafting a thrilling standalone project that is pure, high-seas adventure.

• The Elements: Water witches, fierce pirates, an ACAB-aligned anti-authority theme, and a fast-paced journey across the ocean.

Because things are moving so fast behind the scenes, I’m constantly sharing real-time updates, snippets of dialogue, and daily writer life shenanigans. If you want to stay in the loop, Threads is the account I am most active on right now. Go check me out over there, and let’s chat in the comments! Thank you all for being the most supportive readers an author could ask for. Your encouragement keeps me writing. Which of these upcoming worlds are you most excited to dive into? Let me know your theories in the comments!
