Author Spotlight: Tawanna Marsh

November 16, 2020

Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, predominantly women and people of color, their writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight!

Meet the Author!

Tawanna Marsh is an Author and Entrepreneur whose love for writing developed early on. Writing is her “why” in this life. She hopes to write books readers will find entertaining, comforting and thought-provoking, with an undercurrent of intelligent humor. Her goal is to inspire us all, to the best version of ourselves by helping us laugh, cry, ponder, and gasp, at those crazy experiences we encounter in life. When Tawanna isn’t writing she loves running and the outdoors. Tawanna resides in both Texas and California.

What and when started your love for writing?

An undying urge to tell stories which began more than 20 years ago.

Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours?

I’m obsessed with relationships, marriage, the things that make them work or cause them to fail. I have personal interests in other genres but romance, drama or erotica are probably where the “TRUST, The Novel” trilogy series would fit comfortably.

If you could meet your favorite author who would it be and why?

Honey … Bebe Moore Campbell. Unfortunately, she passed away some years back but I would settle for a visit from her in my dreams. She was an incredible storyteller whose writing style is very similar to mine.

What makes your book(s) special?

My stories about relationships makes one feel as though they are there, present, feeling every emotion, understanding decisions they ordinarily would not give credence, and considering changes to perspective that may seem unwelcomed but undeniably peaceful. My stories get all up in your business and force you to therapeutically challenge yourself about common responses to conflict resolution in your own life. You are never the same after reading the “TRUST, The Novel” trilogy series; Hell, neither was I after writing it.

So…what are you working on now?

Presently, I’m finishing up the “TRUST, The Novel” series and outlining my next fictional story.
