Book Business Spotlight post

Hello, Win’s Books is spotlighting our Mystic Writer Membership Community Partners in their Book Business feature, Book Business Spotlight.

About the Ceo

As a former English teacher who specialized in writing instruction, trained other English teachers, scored in the top 3% on the English Praxis exam, and has been trained in editing and continues to take additional training, I can help you with a variety of editing and writing needs. With a passion for words, collecting quotes, and reading books, I love all things writing related.I will admit to having a love-hate relationship with writing, as I am constantly critical, but I feel a grand sense of accomplishment spending hours editing my own writing.
Lest you think I don’t have much of a life, I should add I also enjoy dancing, singing, acting, eating out, and spending quality time with my supportive husband and three adorable kids.

About the Business

Beacon Point LLC Services

Beacon Point LLC was born out of love: a love for the written word, a love of adventure, a love for teaching (but not waking up early), a love for improving others’ writing, a love for tackling challenges and stimulating the mind, and a love for a man and a child. Loving that man and child started everything. Realizing she couldn’t be the kind of wife and mother that man and child deserved and remain a dedicated English teacher, she started advertising herself as a tutor. From there, she added more services, encompassing all her loves, and along the way she found herself swept up in a fun, but daunting adventure: creating, owning, and running a business.

Let Katie Chambers, owner of Beacon Point LLC, help write your future by hiring her to edit your book or novel and write your business content, resume, or cover letter; taking her writing- and editing-based courses; attending in-person or online any of her webinars, workshops, and presentations; and reading her blog.

How did the company start?

What is the purpose and mission of your business?

Beacon Point LLC was born out of love: a love for the written word, a love of adventure, a love for teaching (but not waking up early), a love for improving others’ writing, a love for tackling challenges and stimulating the mind, and a love for a man and a child. Loving that man and child started everything. Realizing she couldn’t be the kind of wife and mother that man and child deserved and remain a dedicated English teacher, she started advertising herself as a tutor. From there, she added more services, encompassing all her loves, and along the way she found herself swept up in a fun, but daunting adventure: creating, owning, and running a business.

To contribute to creating a world full of better writers, people with a desire to learn, and well-written published content.

What is the purpose and mission of your business?

Beacon Point’s purpose is to provide a variety of writing services for every type of learner and writer. By offering different ways you can increase your own writing skills or just editing or writing the content for you, Beacon Point will help you write your future—whether you are an author, a job seeker, an employer, an employee, an entrepreneur, or a student.

Why is writing/reading important?

At the core of human nature is the need to belong and feel a sense of community. As we no longer have clans or live with extended family, the best way to do that in our day is through the written word. Through sharing our stories, messages, and advice, we can help others feel less alone and more connected. Even when reading a novel, there is something to be learned, and we can see ourselves in a variety of characters. Without the ability to read and write, we would feel very isolated and that core need would remain unfulfilled.

What are your future plans for the business?

I just added a new service: in-person and online presentations, webinars, and workshops. So I would like to grow that aspect and speak at a variety of conferences and on a variety of webinars for editors and authors. The editing and writing side of my business has been flourishing, so now I would like to expand the teaching side of my business.
