    September 4, 2020 by

DISCLOSURE: THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS, MEANING I GET A COMMISSION IF YOU DECIDE TO MAKE A PURCHASE THROUGH MY LINKS, AT NO COST TO YOU. PLEASE READ MY DISCLAIMER FOR MORE INFORMATION. Hi everyone! Welcome to another Built By Us project! Now this is our 10 B.B.U. project (Yay) and in honor of our first project back in March, DIY Terrariums, were doing back to your roots (git it hehehe) So I decided we’re going to make Plant Potters! Usually, I post what you need to make the project earlier in the week, but this project is different. Since everything but the plants, itself can be found in your house! Most of the things on the list, are things I already had at home. That’s one of my favorite parts of DIY, reusing things for a new purpose. So you’ll need: Okay now that we got all of our materials, let’s get started! 1. drill holes in the bottom of your “pots” 2. add your sand and soil to the pot *the ratio of sand and soil depends on you, the pot, and your plant’s needs. 3. Add in your plants *sidenote, I’ll be using these cute pots for another… Read more

    Writers Week (-ending)

    August 28, 2020 by

Hi everyone happy Friday! This week was my first week back in college and my first Writers Week! All this week (Aug 24th-Aug 28th) I did a week of author spotlights and poetry, showcasing some of the most unique authors and writers I’ve met in a while. And surprisingly, I learned a lot! What will you be adding to the next Writers Week? I’m thinking that the next Writers Week will not only host authors but other bloggers. I intend to have more guest blogs and blogs about writing too. And maybe adding in some character interviews (*wink*… Read more

    Author Spotlight: Alisha Howard

    September 23, 2020 by

Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, predominantly women and people of color, their writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight! Meet the Author! Alisha Howard lives in the middle of America with her husband, daughter and a handful of animals. She enjoys watching old Charmed episodes (the original!), reading random Wikipedia articles and writing epic adventure series. What and when started your love for writing? I began writing when I was 8 years old. At first, it was only super short stories hidden in my many diaries, but eventually, the stories evolved into full-length novels. Of all of the book genres, what drew you to write about yours? I love escaping into a magical world full of adventure and mischief! When I was growing up, I didn’t see a lot of YA Fantasy written with Black girls as the main protagonist which was a bummer because I wanted to read about people who looked like me on those crazy adventures. So I started writing my own. If you could meet your favorite author who would it be and why? Maya Angelou for sure. I’d just love… Read more
