    July 21, 2019 by

Hey everyone, my name is Winnifred, Winnie for short. I am an artist and writer. This year I self published my debut novel: The Gods’ Scion: Child of Tempus. As a military child, I have traveled extensively around the US East Coast and Germany, learning about the history, lore, and culture of each region. I have spent the last two years writing and expanding the world of The Gods’ Scion trilogy series. I have had a lifelong love of literature and art. As a new writer I want to create beautiful fantasy world with compelling and intriguing characters. I love to spread positivity and joy to those around me, and look at the world through a glittery pink lens. I want to connect with more readers, writers, and artists. I love to meet new people and share stories. I hope to start a community of nerds, geeks, and weirdos (as my mother would put it). I also want to promote my books and art pieces as well. And be a place for others to do the same as well. If my blog is successful throughout the next year, I hope have a bigger email list, number of readers, and larger… Read more

  • Author Spotlight: Candice Lola

    June 30, 2020 by

Hello everyone! Welcome to another author spotlight! These will be posts where I discuss and showcase, predominantly women and people of color, their writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight! Meet the Author! Candice Lola is a fiction writer and essayist based in New York City. She is a graduate student in NYU’s Experimental Humanities program, focusing on Creative Writing and Human Rights. She is also closet gothic fantasy fan, a sommelier of cheap wines, a burner of fine foods, and a fan girl of all things geeky.  Her stories are heavily allegorical representations of her sociopolitical musings and fever dreams. Candice Lola has published work with Indigo & Midnight, The Huffington Post, Medium, In The Words of Womyn (ITWOW) Journal, and other literary publications. What and when started your love for writing? I’ve loved reading and writing since I was a child. When my mom used to read me bedtime stories, I would try to memorize what she said on each page so that I could pretend to be reading those pages later. I started writing little poems when I started school and when I was 7, I published a… Read more
