    Write With Me!

    March 22, 2021 by

Hi everyone! How are you? As you may or may not know I have started writing the fourth book and the Gods’ Scion series. I’m so excited to start this new chapter, literally. But this time around I’m doing things differently. I want to you write book four with me! I wanna get you guys involved with me. More than I’ve ever done before when writing a book. Everything from my draft to editing to book naming to the release. I want you guys my readers and audience to have some hand in it. I also want to be sharing tips struggles achievements I go through and this book writing to the publishing process. So what’s the plan? I noticed that as I wrote a book I didn’t really incorporate who the book was for. What I mean is the reader I didn’t really engage with them until it was time to release the book cover, or book video, or book publishing date. So I really want to focus on engaging the readers and viewers and hopefully getting more people excited and interested in the book series and my writing work/process. In the last year, I’ve gained more followers readers… Read more

  • Nature’s Natural Beauty

    February 26, 2021 by

Hello everyone! Welcome to another blog and my first drawing blog for Win’s Books. As I told you guys on my social media I wanted to start adding more of my artwork onto the blog since it was one of the main reasons why I created it in the first place. If you have been following my Instagram you have seen some sneak peek photos of what I’ve been doing this semester in my art classes and what I will be doing in the future pertaining to my art. So a little background on this collection, this was last semester’s drawing class finally I did. These pieces are called “Nature’s Natural Beauty.” It’s about showing the beauty of different ethnic women and natural states. I made sure to pick models and photos of women with little to no makeup. Many cultures also value hair as a show of status, beauty, and self-love. Women of Color in history have been dehumanized and features, so I wanted to draw attention to those by showing them in an appealing light. The plants I used are from areas where these women are from regionally. While the movements of environmental protections on the raise and… Read more

    Happy Birthday Child of Tempus!

    January 18, 2021 by

Hey everyone! It’s Child of Tempus’ 2nd Birthday!!! I can’t believe two years have passed since publishing my book. I had NO idea what I was doing but, I’ve been able to learn and grow from so many in the writing and indie author community. And I thank you all! I wasn’t able to do something big this year for Tempus’ terrible two’s but I hope next year I will be (*wink wink*) Since CoT’s release, I have released two other books apart of my YA fantasy series, The Gods’ Scion. CoT even got its book cover revamped, which I totally love! I have been able to grow as a writer from the countless feedback and reviews I’ve received for my book over the years. And though I know CoT isn’t perfect and has its flaws, it’s my baby and will always have a special place in my heart. Child of Tempus laid the groundwork for all my books to come, and I believe things will get better as I continue to write and release new books. Without CoT I wouldn’t have started this blog and had met all of you, so I owe it to CoT for all the… Read more

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Built By Us project! Now this is our 10 B.B.U. project (Yay) and in honor of our first project back in March, DIY Terrariums, were doing back to your roots (git it hehehe) So I decided we’re going to make Plant Potters! Usually, I post what you need to make the project earlier in the week, but this project is different. Since everything but the plants, itself can be found in your house! Most of the things on the list, are things I already had at home. That’s one of my favorite parts of DIY, reusing things for a new purpose. So you’ll need: Okay now that we got all of our materials, let’s get started! 1. drill holes in the bottom of your “pots” 2. add your sand and soil to the pot *the ratio of sand and soil depends on you, the pot, and your plant’s needs. 3. Add in your plants *sidenote, I’ll be using these cute pots for another… Read more

    Writers Week (-ending)

    August 28, 2020 by

Hi everyone happy Friday! This week was my first week back in college and my first Writers Week! All this week (Aug 24th-Aug 28th) I did a week of author spotlights and poetry, showcasing some of the most unique authors and writers I’ve met in a while. I had so much fun doing this and I can’t wait to do it again in the future Why a Writers Weeks? Well, I wanted a week of just writing and author showcasing. So I thought, why not have a whole week celebrating this?! So Writers Week was born. I want to do at least two to three Writers Weeks on the blog. This was my first one and I had begun college again, so it wasn’t as exciting and engaging. But don’t worry, I learn as I continue to blog. This was just around the lesson to reflect and learn from. And surprisingly, I learned a lot! What will you be adding to the next Writers Week? I’m thinking that the next Writers Week will not only host authors but other bloggers. I intend to have more guest blogs and blogs about writing too. And maybe adding in some character interviews (*wink*… Read more

    July 21, 2019 by

Hey everyone, my name is Winnifred, Winnie for short. I am an artist and writer. This year I self published my debut novel: The Gods’ Scion: Child of Tempus. As a military child, I have traveled extensively around the US East Coast and Germany, learning about the history, lore, and culture of each region. I have spent the last two years writing and expanding the world of The Gods’ Scion trilogy series. I have had a lifelong love of literature and art. As a new writer I want to create beautiful fantasy world with compelling and intriguing characters. I love to spread positivity and joy to those around me, and look at the world through a glittery pink lens. I want to connect with more readers, writers, and artists. I love to meet new people and share stories. I hope to start a community of nerds, geeks, and weirdos (as my mother would put it). I also want to promote my books and art pieces as well. And be a place for others to do the same as well. If my blog is successful throughout the next year, I hope have a bigger email list, number of readers, and larger… Read more

Writing with Winnie: Drafting Book Four

    April 7, 2021 by

Hey everyone how are you doing? I’m still busy as usual especially with writing book four of the Gods’ Scion series. I want to take sometime and talk about it with you guys. 30% Done with Writing Book Four! Yup I’m slowly making my way through drafting book four. I couldn’t believe that I had already completed 30% of the book finished. Through writing it I kept most f my writing process the same, though I have made some changes. For one I started using a Goal Tracker through Story Origin. Which I have been loving! I love that I get to visually see how well I’m doing. As well as keeping myself on track and motivated to put writing. That is something I struggle with, writing motivation. I love to write and always have something to write about, but to sit down and type or write it may become difficult. Besides the goal tracker I’ve kept my process quite the same. I’m still using an outline and writing and rewriting my plot. Speaking of plot if you haven’t checked out my guest paneling on The Write Talk’s YouTube Channel. It is really insightful for those who want to learn… Read more

    Author Spotlight: Sydney Reneé

    April 5, 2021 by

Hello everyone! Welcome to another Author Spotlight! These spotlights are for showcasing author’s (predominantly women and people of color) writing talents and published works. So without further ado let’s get on with the Author Spotlight! About the Author: Sydney Reneé is a mother, writer and woman dedicated to evolving in all aspects of her life. Looking for an outlet she began journaling/blogging, which lead to her creating The Diary of She; a space created to inspire women to be themselves unapologetically, use their voices and to never give up on what they believe in. Through her poetry and creative writing, Sydney continues to tell stories and develop characters that readers can look at and say, “Hey, I’ve been there, but I’ve made it through.” What and when started your love for writing? I started writing in a journal when I was in middle school (most of which I still have), but it wasn’t until my senior year that I became super interested in writing. I was big into gossip blogs like Nicole Bitchie and I had dreams of one day starting my own magazine, so I started my own blog, which originally started off as a blog where I posted… Read more
